October 2024

As we are getting close to the trees being commercially viable, I have started the process of getting buyers interested in our timber. The probable end result will be Koppers taking it for poles and pylons, however there are some bigger trees that would make good saw logs. It will come down to the cost/return of having separate operations for the two products.

Our investments have provided cashflow to keep the wheels turning, with total gross return over the 6 years being a little over $288,000, which averages at around $48,000 per annum. However I am nervous about the worlds economies at the moment, with various conflicts and the US election potentially having significant negative effect on Australia. As fixed term deposits are paying up to 5% I have withdrawn from the share investments and placed most of our capital with banks, for 6 months, keeping some aside in case other opportunities arise.
